The Finnish company, Nokia known for its affordable devices has quietly launched an exceptionally affordable Mobile that runs on Series 40 platform-Nokia 109 yesterday. This phone is the cheapest internet phone to be ever launched with a 2G/GPRS connectivity. Nokia 109 is a basic feature phone rather than a smart phone. Nokia launched this phone with the idea that consumers prefer Nokia’s feature phones instead of high end Smart phones.

It has dimensions of 110 x 46 x 14.8 mm and weighs 77 grams. It sports a TFT display of 1.8” with 128 x 160 pixels resolution, 16 MB internal memory and can be extended up to 32 GB with micro SD card. The user interface is Nokia series 40 Platform, being an internet phone it has connectivity features that include GPRS/EDGE 2G. The battery of this handset is 800 mAh Li-ion battery with 7.5 hours talk time and gives 790 hours standby. It is a basic feature phone with no camera, so it is strictly for calling, internet and music. This phone will last you more than a Smartphone, charge it just twice a week unlike Smartphone that you need to charge everyday.

This phone offers faster internet surfing as it comes with pre installed Nokia Xpress Browser.
